The Department of State (DOS) has issued new guidance on nonimmigrant visa appointment scheduling.
Effective immediately, nonimmigrant visa applicants must schedule their visa interview appointments at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in their country of residence. Applicant’s whose home countries are not regularly scheduling these appointments will be required to apply at the U.S. embassy or consulate in a designated location. DOS noted that existing nonimmigrant visa appointments will “generally” not be cancelled.
