Federal Judge Ana Reyes blocked Haiti’s Temporary Protected Status (TPS) termination, set to go into effect today.
Following Homeland Security’s Termination of Haiti’s TPS last year, five Haitian nationals filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration, claiming that the decision was preordained and racially motivated. Judge Reyes granted their request for deportation protection while the case is ongoing, allowing 350,000 Haitian TPS holders to continue to live and work legally in the United States until a final ruling is made.
