The Department of Homeland Security announced today that Yemeni citizens will no longer hold Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designations, effective 60 days after the notice is officially announced in the Federal Register. The notice has not been posted yet.
Yemen is the 13th country whose protected status has been terminated since the start of President Trump’s second term.
Most recently, Haiti’s TPS termination was blocked by a federal judge, who ordered an extension of stay allowing Haitian nationals to legally remain in the United States until a final decision has been made in an active lawsuit. We will see if the same happens for Yemen and will keep you updated.
