Due to operational constraints following new social media vetting measures for H-1B visa applicants, US consulates are cancelling and rescheduling some H-1B visa appointments.
Appointments scheduled on or after December 15th appear to be most affected, with some appointments being rescheduled 2-4 months in the future. Most cancellations appear to be out of US consulates in India.
While US consulates are not cancelling all H-1B visa appointments, if you have upcoming travel plans to India for H-1B visa stamping, you should prepare for a possible appointment cancellation which could impact your ability to re-enter the United States. Please consult with your employer and an immigration attorney prior to traveling. We are happy to speak with you.
