H-1B Cap Reached for Fiscal Year 2026

USCIS has received enough H-1B petitions to satisfy the 65,000 H-1B visa regular cap and the 20,000 H-1B U.S. master’s cap for fiscal year 2026. Thus, it will not conduct a second H-1B lottery this year.

USCIS will continue to accept and process cap-exempt petitions, including those for:

– H-1B extensions
– Changes of employer for H-1B workers
– Requests to work concurrently in other H-1B positions
– Changing employment terms for H-1B workers

Note: Previous petitions filed under the cap that will retain their cap number are exempt from the 2026 fiscal year cap.
