Executive Order on Aligning Federal Contracting and Hiring Practices With the Interests of American Workers

Issued August 3, 2020, this most recent executive order slated at “protecting American workers” and promoting further the “Hire American, Buy American” initiative by the Trump Administration, which has been threatening legal immigration and non-immigrant workers in the U.S., states the following:

1. The Federal Government will review their Federal contracting practices to see if what they are doing with hiring companies that provide foreign workers pursuant to a Federal contract impacts US workers.

2. They will review the H-1B program in general to see if it impacts US workers.

For both, this Executive Order asks for recommendations from government agencies to help protect US workers.
