A Federal Register notice posted today announced Haiti’s Temporary Protected Status (TPS) termination, effective February 3, 2026.
The Biden Administration extended Haiti’s TPS to February 3, 2026. However, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) attempted to reduce and terminate Haiti’s TPS designation in June and were subsequently blocked by a federal judge for doing so before its original expiration date. DHS must announce a country’s TPS termination within 60 days of its expiration, and today’s Federal Register notice complies with this requirement.
