The good news for Indian nationals is that the Employment-Based Category Two (EB-2) jumped forward to January 2009. That means many intending immigrants will be able to file their adjustments of status cases in August. If your priority date is ‘current’,  make sure to get your I-485 adjustment cases ready for filing.

Visa availability and cutoff dates are determined on a monthly basis by the DOS based on anticipated demand.   These dates can move forward, backward or remain unchanged. Employers and employees should monitor the monthly Visa Bulletins so they can properly plan their immigration cases.
