USCIS Announces Fee Rule Change for H-1B Petitions

On Friday, February 25, 2022, USCIS announced that it will no longer accept combined filing fees payment for Form I-129 (petition for nonimmigrant worker) filed in conjunction with forms I-539 (application to change/extend nonimmigrant status), I-765 (application for employment authorization) or I-824 (application for action on an approved application or petition).  The I-129 Petition fee can only be bundled with an I-907 Request for Premium Processing.

This change will go into place starting April 1, 2022, just in time for the 2023 H-1B Cap season.  When filing multiple applications alongside an I-129 Petition, multiple filing fee checks must be sent in order to avoid rejection by the USCIS lockbox.
