On March 6th, 2024, USCIS began the H-1B Cap Lottery registration at noon eastern time. This year, the registration process has changed by incorporating an online organizational account for both the petitioners and legal representatives, if applicable, to try to create a more effective method of registration. USCIS has also set a new policy to deter fraud and to promote a more level playing field by making it mandatory for beneficiaries to upload the valid passport or travel document that they will use to enter the United States if selected for a Visa, and attaching their entry into the Cap Registration system to that passport. This way, if a beneficiary has multiple sponsors and multiple registrations but use the same one passport, they will only have one entry in the overall lottery system.
