Get to Know Series: Ana Gill, Administrative Assistant

How much do you really know about your immigration team?

Ana has worked with Bashyam Global for a little over a year now and has been an amazing addition to our team. If you have contacted our office, you have spoken with Ana. Ana is an integral part of our administrative staff that ensures the smooth functioning of our office.

Ana originally immigrated from Sonora, Mexico to the United States with her family when she was 14.  Ana graduated high school in 2013, and joined the U.S. Navy in February 2014. Ana served for five years and was able to travel the world. She toured Bahrain, Dubai, Italy, and France. As a first generation immigrant, she wanted to establish her own roots and find her own version of the American dream, which led to her decision to join the Navy. She obtained her citizenship while serving in the Navy. Ana still serves in the Naval Reserves today.

In continuation of our Get to Know series, we asked Ana a few questions.  We want you to get to know Ana, an integral part of our immigration team.

Here’s what Ana has to say:

Where are you from?

Sonora, Mexico. I moved to Arizona when I was 14.

Why did you decide to go into immigration law?

As an immigrant myself, I enjoy helping others in their immigration journey.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?

I enjoy any place by the beach!

What is your favorite movie series?

I love all of the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies.

What are three things still on your bucket list?

I don’t have a bucket list but I do have some goals that I would like to meet this year: read more books, eat cleaner, and do more yoga.

Who do you admire and why?

My family, I love the way we work together in all situations. I love to spend time with my family outside of work.

What are three things everyone should know about immigration?

  1. Stay informed–immigration law is always changing
  2. Be patient, things take time.
  3. Trust your immigration team (us).

As Ana said, family is the most important thing to her. Regardless of what you define as the “American dream”, at the end of the day, the most important thing to people is family. Our clients and many immigrants like them uproot their families and their entire lives to move to the U.S. in search of new opportunities, and to pursue their own version of the American dream. We want to help those who make the sacrifice to move their family across the world or across the border to live and work in the U.S.

We appreciate the personal perspective that Ana brings in as an immigrant herself to help our team to continue to connect with our clients during possibly one of the most difficult times in their life. As an immigration law firm, we want to keep our clients, their needs, and their families as our main focus. We’re not just working with the client, we are also working with their entire family and their future. We want them to know that we are here to help and support them with their immigration case, whatever it may be.

We hope you got to know an important member of our team, Ana Gill, a little better.

Stay tuned for more on the Get to Know series. We will be introducing a different Bashyam Global team member every month!
