Venezuela’s 2023 Temporary Protected Status Designation is Withdrawn

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on February 3rd, 2025, that the 2023 Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for Venezuela will be withdrawn. This decision is based on the evaluation of current conditions in Venezuela, which Homeland Security has determined fall short of the standard for eligibility for TPS.

Effective April 7, 2025, Venezuelan citizens residing in the United States through this designation will no longer have a valid Temporary Protected Status under which to legally remain in the United States.

Important: The withdrawal of the 2023 TPS designation for Venezuela has no bearing on the 2021 TPS designation for Venezuela, valid through September 10th, 2025.

If you have any questions about the removal of the 2023 Designation of Venezuela for TPS, we would be happy to speak with you.
