USCIS Announces Filing Location Update for Form I-918 and Form I-485 for Applicants Filing Based on U Nonimmigrant Status

Starting June 29, 2020, Form I-918, Petition for U Nonimmigrant Status, will be filed at the Nebraska Service Center, in addition to the Vermont Service Center. Petitioners should determine which service center to send their Form I-918, Form I-918A, Form I-918B and related forms (such as Form I-192 and Form I-765) based on their state of residence. Please refer to the “Where to File” section on the Form I-918 webpage to determine the correct filing location.

USCIS is also updating the direct filing addresses for Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, for applicants who apply based on their U nonimmigrant status. Please refer to the Direct Filing Addresses for Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, webpage to see which center you should send your application.

30-Day Grace Period
USCIS will allow for a 30-day grace period for petitioners to file Form I-918, Form I-918A, Form I-918B and all related forms at the incorrect service center. The grace period will run through July 30. After that date, USCIS may reject any Form I-918, Form I-918A, Form I-918B, Form I-485, and all related forms sent to the incorrect service center.
