Get to Know Series: Nina Mires, Paralegal and Document Liaison

How much do you really know about your immigration team?

Nina is the document liaison for our firm. Have you received your original approval notice from our office? Then you can thank Nina! She coordinates all inward and outward bound documents for our firm.

Nina attended Thomas Aquinas College, a small Catholic Great Books college in southern California, and is also a certified NC Paralegal who attended the Meredith College Paralegal Program. Nina’s great-grandparents were immigrants from Calabria in southern Italy in the 1920s.  Her immigrant great-grandfather worked as a coal miner in West Virginia.  Nina loves that immigration law helps people and their families.

In continuation of our Get to Know series, we asked Nina a few questions.  We want you to get to know Nina, an integral part of our immigration team.

Here’s what Nina has to say:

Where are you from?

Chicago, Illinois

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?

Sunset Beach in North Carolina! It’s the best beach in the country.

What is your favorite book series?

The Queen’s Thief series by Meg Whalen Turner.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Reading, studying languages, and watching television.

What are three things still on your bucket list?

  1. Travel to Korea– I speak Korean conversationally
  2. Write a novel
  3. Go to New York City during restaurant week and eat!

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

Telekinesis– it would be fun to prank people!

What are three things everyone should know about immigration?

  1. Compassion is key;
  2. Teamwork is the foundation;
  3. Clear communication and trust is the most important!

As Nina said, one of the most important things to know about immigration is that teamwork in the foundation. Our office would not operate as efficiently and effectively if we did not have such great teamwork among our attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. Teamwork also includes working with employers, employees, and individual clients to put forward the best application to USCIS each time.

We appreciate Nina and the hard work that she puts in for each of our clients and for her co-workers. Keeping teamwork at the forefront of our minds with each of our clients, we want them to know that we will work with them every step of the way throughout their immigration process. We are here for them to provide guidance and strategy, and to work with them as a team. Just like we do with each other here at Bashyam Global.

We hope you got to know an important member of our team, Nina Mires, a little better.

Stay tuned for more on the Get to Know series. We will be introducing a different Bashyam Global team member every month!
