About Cheryl
Cheryl Gaffney is the accountant and resident CPA at Bashyam Global Immigration Law Group. She attended college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Psychology, and then again for her Master’s Degrees in Accounting. She became certified as a Certified Public Accountant in North Carolina in 2003.
Cheryl’s love for immigration began when she was young. Her father was in the military, so growing up she lived in many places and learned to appreciate other cultures. Her fifth great-grandfather sailed from Ireland to America in 1797 and eventually established the town of Gaffney Crossroads, which later became the town of Gaffney, South Carolina. Her family has a partial copy of his diary that describes the trials he endured upon reaching America and attempting to navigate the cultural biases and stigmas that existed during that period.
Outside the office, Cheryl’s interests include reading, movies, and of course her biggest passion – traveling. She has been to four continents and almost 20 countries, and she hopes to visit many more and experience the amazing array of scenery, cultures, and experiences that the world has to offer.
