Maryam is a Business Immigration Attorney at Bashyam Global LLP. She studied at the American University in Washington, DC where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Justice, Law, and Criminology. After completing her undergraduate studies, Maryam attended Elon University School of Law in Greensboro, North Carolina where she was able to pursue her passion for immigration in a meaningful way. Maryam is a member of the North Carolina State Bar.
Maryam’s passion for immigration began when she immigrated from Canada to the United States with her family. Maryam has developed a deep appreciation for immigration after moving from country to country, and is fueled by her desire to improve the system that she herself experienced as a youth. Maryam knows the ins and outs of immigration, both as an immigrant herself and as a successful immigration attorney with the Bashyam Global Immigration Law Group.
Previously working as a Defense Attorney in California and New York’s Federal Immigration Courts, Maryam has a well-rounded knowledge of both business and family immigration which serves beneficial in problem solving and leading clients in achieving
their ultimate goals. Maryam has developed an intimate knowledge of the immigration system through her experiences, both personal and professional, and provides invaluable insight to our clients regarding procedure, outcomes, and changes in immigration policy.
In her free time, Maryam enjoys spending time outdoors with her German Shepherd, Rex. She is also an avid visual artist focusing on acrylic and watercolor painting, heavily inspired by Cubism, Fauvism, and Surrealism.
