"The United States is a melting pot of people and cultures from around the world. It is an incredible honor as an immigration attorney to work with immigrants and contribute to this country's diversity, bettering the lives of immigrants as well as the community at large."
Allison is the family immigration and removal defense attorney at Bashyam Global Immigration Law Group. She has been licensed in North Carolina since 2012 and is a NC Board Certified Specialist in Immigration Law.
Practicing immigration law has been Allison’s goal since she was a teenager. She had the opportunity to spend a summer in Queretaro, Mexico, to take some college classes and experience living in another country. The summer she spent there fueled her passion of traveling and experiencing different cultures as well as her decision to dedicate her career to working with immigrants and helping them achieve the American dream. Since that summer she has also lived in Santiago, Chile and San Jose, Costa Rica, traveling throughout South America and becoming fluent in Spanish in the process.
Graduating from Elon University School of Law in 2012, Allison immediately began practicing immigration law. She is proud to have represented clients from all walks of life, from six different continents. She has traveled to Artesia, New Mexico and San Antonio, Texas to provide pro bono support to families detained there in search of asylum. She enjoys her involvement in various immigrant and attorney groups throughout the Carolinas, and has taught various Continuing Legal Education (CLE) classes to other attorneys and paralegals. Allison also recently worked as the Contract Attorney for the Guatemalan Consulate in Raleigh from 2017-2018.
When outside the office, Allison enjoys spending time with her family and three rescue dogs, as well as planning her next international adventure. She has traveled across 4 continents and been to 20 countries, with the goal of many more.
